Ask Marilyn ® by Marilyn vos Savant is a column in Parade Magazine, published by PARADE, 711 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017, USA. According to Parade, Marilyn vos Savant is listed in the "Guinness Book of World Records Hall of Fame" for "Highest IQ."

In her Parade Magazine column of July 18, 2004, Marilyn challenged her readers to write a paragraph of 100 single syllable words without repeating any words.

In her Parade Magazine column of August 22, 2004, Marilyn published her favorite entry, a poem by Pam Capps of Celebration, Florida.

Sorry Marilyn

Sandy <SashmoJo@aol.com> wrote with the following observation:

Two of the lines of the poem begin with the word "look," which of course, means a word was repeated. Not exactly a mistake of Marilyn's, but more a careless error.

In response to Sandy's email, I checked more closely, and discovered that the word "back" was also repeated.

I'm not sure whether Pam was aware of these errors or not, but since Pam's entry was Marilyn's favorite, I believe we must give Pam credit for tricking Marilyn!
